Frameless Hardware Co. Acquires Columbia Commercial Building Products Assets - USGlass Magazine & USGNN Headline News

The Frameless Hardware Co. (FHC) based in South Gate, Calif., announced it has substantially acquired assets of Rockwall, Texas-based Columbia Commercial Building Products (CCBP) from Consolidated Glass Holdings (CGH). According to the announcement, FHC has acquired inventory, fabrication equipment and product designs for CCBP’s entrance doors, storefront and curtainwall systems.

FHC has been in business since late 2019, and will enter the commercial aluminum storefront market through this acquisition. The company also plans to launch its new aluminum brand and a major manufacturing expansion at its South Gate, Calif., headquarters, bringing its manufacturing and distribution footprint to a combined 135,000 square feet.

“Architectural aluminum has long been the next logical addition to FHC’s product offering,” says Chris Hanstad, president of FHC. “Columbia’s quality and integrity are well known and the addition of these systems gives our customers a single-source solution to partner with on their projects.”

The news of FHC’s acquisition follows CGH’s announcement in February that it was closing the CCBP location, as well as J.E. Berkowitz in Pedricktown, N.J. The CGH statement noted that CCBP operations were “winding down” as a result of its lease terminating, in addition to being impacted by the global pandemic.

At press time, FHC had not responded to USGNN™’s request for comment. Stay tuned for updates as they are made available.
